Review: 'Eurielle'
'Carry Me'

-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '28th June 2014'

Our Rating:
A lot of people are sure to be awed by Eurielle’s classical vocal style, and to be mesmerised by the restrained, delicate orchestral backing that evokes green rolling hills and misted ancient woodlands. Many will concur with Love Music Magazine’s Kat Bagshaw in her appraisal that Eurielle’s music would fit perfectly into the soundtrack of an epic fantasy film, and I don’t disagree myself.

But then, I can’t stomach fantasy epics or their soundtracks, and the truth is, ‘Carry Me’ for all its technicality and poise and Clannad-like atmospherics sounds as cliché and contrived as the images of the singer riding a horse through the trees wearing a flowing cape like some Guinevere or Maid Marian figure.
