Review: 'Palmer, Ross'
'Reassurance EP'

-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '9th June 2014'

Our Rating:
Lead track ‘Reassurance’ is a pleasant, mid-tempo acoustic-led song with some Beatles-esque harmonies that are almost certain to appeal to many ears. The tone is reflective, contemplative and thoughtful. ‘That’s Not You’ is a bit rockier, a solid bass and drums providing a foil to Palmer’s guitar work and bittersweet vocals.

There are some nice harmonies and passion in his voice. ‘Teach Me to Believe’ is a simple acoustic song, and in many ways is a rather standard piece of sad singer-songwriter fare, but it’s nicely done.

At times, his voice does sound a shade flat, but he sings with heart and sincerity, and his musicianship and compositional skills are hard to fault.
