Thrash pop is a new genre to me but an entirely fitting one to describe this bright-eyed debut album by a bushy-tailed three piece from Inverness in Scotland.
It features ten 'blink-and-you'll-miss-them' tunes that sound like the missing link between The Ramones and Sonic Youth.
The two minute uptempo blast of Smile is a prime example of what they do best while the hey-hey-hey energy of Invisible People Are Their Own Reflections In The Water is every bit as good as its title.
"Haven't we lived this trip before?" is the question posed on the opening track - This Morning We Are Astronauts. Well, yes of course we have but like any roller coaster ride worth its salt, it will prompt cries of again!' again!
SWAP, the first single, comes with a great video of young kids strutting their stuff in a disco-fied school classroom. And these are songs that you would dearly love the new generation of pop pickers to groove to.
DIY punk dynamics, deadpan vocals and guitar abuse - what's not to love?
