They come out all guns blazing with a gritty swagger on ‘Hard to Please’ and if the lyrics aren’t exactly inspired, they’re at least delivered with guts and panache. The slower ‘Transcending’ sounds like a stoned-out Hendrix riff and features some whacked-out wah-wah action. ‘Redemption’ follows the style of old-school blues rock with the guitars up loud and the guitar crunching hard, and there’s no question that these guys know how to get down to some straight-ahead no-messing riffery. Great start.
