Review: 'MECHANICAL MOUSE ORGAN'
'Get Over It'

-  Label: 'Revenge Western'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '3rd July 2015'-  Catalogue No: 'RWEST003DD'

Our Rating:
HUG were an "emerging Indie band" with a female singer signed to Kitchenware records in the 1990s who never quite emerged.

Mechanical Mouse Organ are the same band with a new male vocalist, Darryl Todd,

Todd is the nephew of bassist Liam Gilfellon, and brings some youthful energy to the laddish old-school rock sound.

The other members of the Newcastle foursome are Dave Curle (drums) and George Kitching (guitar).

Their nine-track,download only debut album is released through their own imprint and was produced by the drummer.

It seeks to capture their rough-and-ready live sound with as few overdubs as possible.

The net result is a no-nonsense, no frills, no surprises album that was probably fun to make but not very inspiring to listen to.
