What makes this interesting and different from the endless slew of raw-throated shouty hardcore bands with frenetic powerhouse drumming and vicious guitars is the way Hiraeth incorporate elements of melody in the lead guitar lines.
Across the EP’s four tracks, they show an acute awareness of the impact of tempo changes and texture, without going all soft.
Pitched being for fans of Gallows & Alexisonfire, this is some intelligent noise alright.
