Review: 'SEALINGS'
'I'm A Bastard'

-  Label: 'Faux Discx/ Italian Beach Babes'
-  Genre: 'Industrial' -  Release Date: '18th September 2015'-  Catalogue No: 'FAUX 037/ 1BB 032'

Our Rating:
Industrial band name, industrial/gothic album cover and gothic/industrial album title. Please let the music be the same and thankfully it is.

It's out on Faux Discx who released a gem of an album by Teardrop Factory last year so I was hopeful to say the least. This is in keeping with the label ethos in the sense that this is more lo-fi goodness although it would be fair to say, minus the sugar pop goodness.

That is not to say this is a bad release, far from it but it is definitely one for the goths. It is more obtuse, morose and taut. Nor is it devoid of melody but these are more ear slugs than ear worms. The drum machine (although maybe not) serves up a regimented clang fest. Guitars are buzzing, the amps are probably frazzling, the toilet door needs opening.

Some would say all the tracks sound the same but no. Yes there is uniformity but all of these songs, are in fact, different. There are standout tracks but it could be any of them and they are all quite short a la Teardrop Factory. Its a good collective effort and good gear this.
