Review: 'Young Hearts, The'
'Everything We Left Behind'

-  Album: 'Everything We Left Behind EP' -  Label: 'No Panic Records'
-  Genre: 'Rock'

Our Rating:
It begins with crashing drums before a welter of guitars pile in and pave the way for ‘Shallow water’ to introduce Kent four-piece the Young Hearts as the latest purveyors of melodic alt-rock. Citing Jimmy Eat World, Brand New, and The Gaslight Anthem, their influences are as apparent as they are strongly embedded in their songs.

It’s custom-built for Kerrang! Radio and what it lacks in originality it more than compensates in songsmithery: the five tracks that comprise ‘Everything We Left Behind’ are accomplished, catchy, and demonstrate a knack for both big anthems and more reflective, emotive songs, all of which suggests they could to go far.
