Review: 'Martyr de Mona'
'Siege Mentality'

-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '19th February 2016'

Our Rating:
Is the band name supposed to mean something? Or is it some kind of an attempt at wordplay? Either way, it doesn’t really work, and nor does it roll off the tongue or stick in the mind. It’s cumbersome and vaguely daft. Still, it doesn’t seem to have been too much of an impedance to their progress, given that they’ve played as support to Guns ‘n’ Roses, Black Sabbath, Avenged Sevenfold and Black Stone Cherry, amongst others. Moreover, this is a review of their new ‘video single,’ ‘Siege Mentality’.

It’s got some pretty chunky riffage and while there’s a strong melody, it doesn’t fall into the trap of being a pretty-boy pop tune. The guitar work is accomplished, and overall, stacking the band against the likes of Slash & Shinedown puts them in the right place for their target audience.
