Principally described as a rock band, London three piece band Magazine Gap might perhaps be better classified as proponents of pop-soul. That is, at least, based on new single ‘What’s That About?’
Built around a solid mid-tempo groove, the song sets its pace early, getting the head nodding to great effect before the distinctive vocal kicks in. Perhaps the best way to describe (and praise) the track is to say that it wouldn’t have sounded out of place on an early Maroon 5 album – mixing catchy rhythms with looping melodies to create a lovely, classy blend.
