Review: 'DENIS THE NIGHT & THE PANIC PARTY'
'Udu EP'

-  Label: 'Wall Of Sound'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '3rd June 2016'

Our Rating:
In the interests of building a cult, this band are reluctant to be surrounded by musical barriers and their sound is described as a "dervish propeller of sonic raves and vocal landscapes".

They are Ono Nora Fiorani, Nicola Sbrozzi and Alessandro Gobbi, a trio geographically located somewhere between Fano (Italy) and London (England).

This threesome are not visible in any of their animated psychedelic videos and the mix of male and female vocals buried in the mix seem designed to forge an androgynous identity.

Udu, the title track, is presented in hi and lo fi versions and sounds like a muddy reworking of The Beatles' Come Together.

The six minutes You Could Be My Home begins like Spirit In The Sky and is less manic and altogether more shoegazey with hints of Animal Collective.

Panic Party is a cut and paste freak out as though Suicide's Ghost Rider was in collision course with a noise collective.

This eclectic mix of genres tries a little too hard but largely makes a positive impression.
