With Zelienople, Matt Christensen has established a reputation for atmospheric music. On solo outing ‘Honeymoons’, he’s created a work which exists in an atmospheric bubble all of its own. Sparse, supple and extremely delicate semi-ambience and slow, picked guitar notes provide the backdrop to Christensen’s hushed, reflective vocals.
While the arrangements are sparse and the instrumentation minimal, the sounds are wide, cinematic, making for an immersive type of music which envelops the listener and transports them into a fugue-like parallel universe.
