Alexandra Louise Cambridge is a 21-year-old London-based songwriter who sings gentle, no -frills acoustic blues-folk tunes.
Her debut EP contains four wistful heart songs dealing with broken promises, unfulfilled dreams, sleepless nights and the realization that love hurts more often than it blooms.
They follow her story in chronological order, beginning by thinking what might have been in Nostalgia and ending with a defiant "screw you" to the guilty heartbreaker in the last, and best, song Rupture
Both in her image and sound, she reminds me a little of a young Tracy Chapman. Like Chapman, the strength lies in the simplicity of the arrangements and the honesty of the sentiments.
