Well, at least the title is accurate. There is indeed nothing particularly dramatic, or original for that matter, about this young Manchester-based four-piece band’s “up-tempo alt-rock”.
The description begs the question as to what exactly is alternative about their sound. On this 5-track EP their playing is tight and energetic with all the requisite controlled histrionics on display in the videos but ‘alt’ it ain’t.
The commercial potential is evident and the fact that it seems like safe, watered-down punk rock to this crusty old man’s ears is probably irrelevant.
