Recorded in Belgium and mastered at Abbey Road, Belgian duo Melting Mallows’ single ‘YA YA YA YA’ has a vintage 60s psych vibe to it. Bices Mali (guitar and vocals) and Brian Jon P. (drums and vocals) kick up a fine racket, and it does the classic grunge quiet / loud dynamic thing, with all the distortion and all the volume going into the catchy-as-hell chorus.
With a running time of just two-and-a-half minutes, it certainly doesn’t outstay its welcome and is instead a blast of fresh air: uplifting is the word.
