Review: 'Ender Bender'
'EQ'

-  Label: 'Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '1.5.20.'

Our Rating:
They may have one of the worst band names I've seen in a while that also means I will apologize to anyone who is upset or offended by the band's name. As certainly if you say the name out loud it certainly sounds homophobic, Maybe Eddie Olguin who is Ender Bender should have known or chose it thinking a bit of controversy may help spread his bands name. Putting that aside they are based in Rome after Eddie escaped from Los Angeles and make very 80's sounding Synth pop.

Honey Lavender Girl sounds like early 80's synth pop with cheesy synths and knowing vocals as if they are updating Blancmange it's the sort of song whose tune will be stuck in your head more than the lyrics.

Star Killer again sounds very early 80's synthpop and is sort of Pet Shop Boys with a slightly darker edge as they sing about being Star Killers.

Rome=You has a very cartoon quality to the music like they have been watching Rhubarb and Custard and want to turn the music from that into a pop song and they sort of succeed in a cheesy fun way and with just enough irony to get away with it.

Wish You Well is a bubble gum pop song of good intentions that is full of knowing glances and good graces as they try not to be bitter towards there ex.

The Ep ends with the oddest and catchiest song on it Free Energy that is a sort of Vaselines style gospel pop ear worm as they ask us repeatedly "Jesus Christ where has the love gone", the lyrics are full of irony and I can easily imagine this getting played over and over again it's by far the best thing on the EP.

Hello, Im Eddie Olguin (Ender Bender). I would really like to thank you for taking the time to listen and review my EP. I have received many reviews and write-ups, throughout my career, and this is the first time I felt like I needed to address one directly.
I just want to assure you, and your readers, that the name Ender Bender means the final bender/party/binge as I had reached a point in my life where I decided to walk away from a lifestyle that was literally killing me (and it sounded like a city or planet out of a Star Wars film...shortened comments
