Review: 'Madisyn Whajne'
'Sweet Talk'

-  Label: 'Summer Love Records/Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '2.11.20.'

Our Rating:
Madisyn Whajne is a new young Canadian singer with the sort of tragic backstory that will pull at your heartstrings even before you hear the music. As a baby Madisyn was one of the Kids the Canadian government confiscated in the Scoop and rehoused with a Non-Native Canadian family, so she grew up not knowing her real name or her real parents, an event that as you would expect has colored her life as she has come to terms with what was done to her and a whole generation of kids.

The a-side Sweet Talk is a cool indie-pop song that is a bit Primitives as she tells us how she wants to make Small Talk with you, this is rather catchy and as with the b-side Summer Love may well end up stuck in your head after 3 or 4 listens to it.

The b-side Summer Love is a cool glacial indie love song with a nice poppy feel to it that should grab your attention it reminds me of Lush and the Luxembourg Signal this is a cool pop song.

Madisyn Whajne's debut album Save Our Hearts is out in December. Find out more here
