Ali Sperry is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter with a voice vaguely reminiscent of Karen Carpenter.
For this record she and producer Jamie Dick have gathered together a batch of Music City musicians/singers who add bland backing with random orchestration
In I Know You're Scared, Sperry’s advice in the face of fear is to look up to the stars and down to the earth that holds you up. This is typical of the ’make_the_bad_world_go_away’ sentiments that nestle cosily behind the ten pop infused country songs.
Despite the kind thoughts and good intentions, the excess of sweetness and light is more numbing than reassuring.
