Well one answer to Just What Is A Robo Jack? would be a compilation EP with an inadequate press release, so I know nothing about the bands involved. The second version is a four song EP that's mainly on the Low-fi side of things.
The EP opens with Clear Yet Blurred (Take 3) by The Sane Riot this is a low-fi Sebadoah style song with muddy sound that sounds a touch muffled in places before you get to a cool guitar solo and they sound like they think Boyracer are over-produced.
Ignorance Is Bliss by Jim Tyrell has a far fuller production for this blues rock song of the need to turn a blind eye, with some really good builds and piano bits, as this gets perilously close to being overblown without tipping over the edge. As the marriage dissolves this comes to a gentle end.
Easy Frustration (Broken Winged Bird Album Demo) by Jebb is next and it has a gentle pulsing beat and spare guitars one that drones throughout and the other comes in to flesh out the story in the lyrics as he tries to figure out how to make it less frustrating and possibly less Daniel Johnston like and more towards Clem Snide than it is.
The Ep closes with Wipe The Tapes by Owen Radford that has a low-fi Jad Fair style approach and the gentle piano organ work really well with the heartfelt vocals, this is the song I want to hear the most on this EP and would like to hear a more fully realized version as this song has loads of potential.
