This band from Boston, Massachusetts are described somewhat uninvitingly as “a ragtag bunch of well meaning, well-mannered and well-seasoned - yet oft-poorly dressed – musicians”. They recorded their debut album during the 2 years of lockdown.
The character-driven story songs are written, and sung, by Tom Robertson who brings a gravel-voiced authenticity to the material. There are two covers, Tom Petty’s Down South and Tim Gearan’s Nobody.
Robertson is backed by guitarist/producer, Andy Santospago and a wealth of other local musical talent. The first single A Room in Birmingham England, 1919 features Eilen Jewell on backing vocals.

They like to call it Northern Country but this is classic Americana through and through by a band who are not afraid to wear their influences on their sleeves.
It isn’t a recipe for anything inspiring or original but these are good songs, solidly played so it’s worth a listen.
