Review: 'Karamelien'
'Wait For Me'

-  Label: 'Bandcamp/I-tunes'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '4.2.23.'

Our Rating:
Wait for me is the new single by Karamelien the East Grinstead based duo of Leanie Kaleido and Chris Mars. Wait for me is a fond farewell to her dad the original Yardbird Top Topham who lost his battle with Dementia in January. Part of his original song Ascension heights is sampled on that song.

The single opens with Wait For Me a slow piano led rumination full of hope that one day you'll be re-united again, as the strings come in and the sun shines down the hope remains, as she sits by your favorite tree, the sadness of loss and the memories it leaves behind are at the heart of this beautiful song.

Ascension Heights has a widescreen soulful air, with delicious strings grabbing at your heart strings as Leanie sets her sights as high as she can.

Lionhearts tells us to turn of the news and clear our minds, solid advice in these most tortured of times, it's the only way to stay sane and feel okay these days, wrapped up in strings and long sustained synth notes as Leanie's vocals float across the room seeking some peace.
