Review: 'Quiz Show'
'The Sound Of Kissing'

-  Label: 'Magic Door Records/Bandcamp'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '14.2.23.'

Our Rating:
Sound of Kissing is the latest single by indie super trio Quiz Show ahead of the band's eponymous debut album due out March 17th. The trio feature members of Shudder to think, Guided By Voices and The Dambuilders and are Jesse Krakow, Kevin March and Frank Gibbons.

The real question of course is what kind of Quiz Show are they, we'll I'll let you decide if they are more Celebrity Squares or Tipping point or could they just be The Chase? (I Don't know if all those shows are in the US as well as here.)

Sound Of Kissing has a sort of pavement meets Sebadoah lazy hazy feel to it, this is modern Slacker college rock. They hear all the kissing as they get near the end of summer and reality might be impinging on there lives once more, so that they try to change the end of summer under layers of guitars and cascading drums.

Dime A Dozen has a hazy indie college rock feel to it, laid back as they tell us how special they actually are and they aren't just there to be sent to the heart of darkness. With the squidgy not quite their guitars helping to make the point.

What If? Well just answer the question as this anthemic indie rocker keeps firing the questions at you and you try to figure out the answers as to why you're always burning and that things aren't right, but how to fix things, well let the guitars wail and clatter, with a bit of luck things will improve.
