Our Rating:
Perseus War is Dez Dare's third solo album having graduated out of the Geelong punk scene being part of among others BATTLE WORLDWIDE, Low Transit Industries and Warped before he relocated to England in 2010.

The album starts as it means to go on with the forceful riff of Bozo hammering at you from your speakers before Dez's vocals come in set against the chiming guitars, some odd glockenspiel sounds and then it kicks off into the stratosphere of anger and bile at Bozo for all he's done as Dez implores him to be kind.

Perseus #1985 takes a plodding garage rock riff, stripped back to allow Dez to explain in the lyrics exactly what's going down, as the guitars rage around him, Fuzztoned to the max you might need a dry ice machine going full blast to get the atmosphere just right for this, if you don't have one, try burning loads of incense and smoking the biggest spliff you can to fill the room with enough smoke.

Myopic Tropic is a party political broadcast on behalf of the psych rock party led by Dez, go on vote for him, he can hardly be worse than who rules us now. I'm sure his policies include fuzz and reverb on demand, as he reaches across the seas hoping to build new alliances.

Bloodbath-On-Hi is speedy anarchic garage punk trying to save us all from another pointless Bloodbath-On-Hi like they are having in the Ukraine currently, or in the Perseus case back on down in Troy, the flame thrower guitars shooting arrows across the water.

A Chimp, A Tricycle, New World Order well they could hardly make more of a mess of it than our current crop of politicians have, the grinding bass core, ever repeating guitar loop, bonkers noise interjections that make perfect sense in Dez's New World Order as it explodes like he's channelling The New Order's Declaration Of War.

I Know Why You Cry At Adam Sandler Films is almost as batty as the title suggests, Psych fired distortions of dis-belief that you would cry at that schmaltz as cataclysmic guitars vituperative synths attack your mind and try to change your viewing habits.

OUCH! My ears my ears, well actually no it sounds too cool to be covering my ears, this is dense, intense howling into the echo laden void, worried about what the world would be like without reverb, as he does an unlikely workout routine.

My Heels + My Toes, My Lies + My Nose is a modern-day stoner rock nursery rhyme, for the idiots running the show, how incapable they are of telling the truth, every time you hear them lie this should be blasted at them at top volume, in fact this should be playing 24 hours a day in Bozo's solitary confinement cell.

BEACH! This isn't summer sun fun, more deranged garage punk fuzz antics as you survey all the modern day jetsam on the beach, a cry for help as the seagulls menace you.

Stop. Stop. Stop. Talking opens with a Casio style synth and abrupt absurd noises spilling across your speakers, infesting your mind like the poison spewed every day by those that ought to know better.

Please make those idiots shut the fuck up, the point is made incessantly for over 8 minutes as Dez sings that he wants to find some quiet, well turn off the amps, stop the buzzing guitars, shut down the drum machine, turn off the microphone, sit in the silence, but where's the fun in that, as all sorts of questions need answering, listening to this is far better for you than listening to politicians speak.
