Our Rating:
Foray Through Keshakhtaran is the first new album by Flowers Of Hell in six years and features a host of special guests including Angel Corpus Christi, Rishi Dhir, Sarah Page. The album is released on Space Age Recordings label home to many of Sonic Booms recordings.

This opens with Foray through Keshakhtaran single mix, that's a three-minute taster for the full glory of this slow ambient meditation piece, that glistens and has the feel of Alice Coltrane mixed with Steve Reich.

The A-side Keshakhtaran (Part 1) starts slowly with harp and a long tone that they slowly build this meditation around, the trumpet is gently evocative. As it slowly evolves more instruments are added to the mix as a zen like calm comes over the listener. The tune gently progresses as you lay back lost in thought allowing the almost angelic sounds take you off on a journey.

Keshakhtaran (Part 2) continues with the gently majestic meditational feel and has angelic voices weaving between the clarinet and harp with ghostly effect. The music slowly evolves with some very gentle cymbal work accentuating what the woodwind is doing. The long tones engender a wonderful sense of calm. Just over 10 minutes in the bass comes to the fore before retreating and allowing the trumpet and harp to cast magical spells on the listeners ears.
