This ten-track album is released through a small independent record label in Piacenza in northern Italy. The label is focused on artists who aim for vintage style melodic sound.
Oxford singer songwriter Gregory Jones certainly fits this criteria. For ‘vintage’ read a man out of time.
Mr. Jones dreams of A Simple Life where love conquers all and darkness is magically absent. This is world seen through spectacles that are forever rose-tinted.
You have to admire the kind of benign optimism behind lyrics like “I got to keep on moving, ‘cos things are bound to be improving” (Moving On).
Delusional it may be but whatever gets you through the night I suppose.
