Our Rating:
Fake Names are a US Punk super group signed to Epitaph Records. I'm trying to remember who I last reviewed Brendan Canty drumming for, in Fake Names he joins up with Brian Baker, Johnny Temple, Dennis Lyxzen and Michael Hampton, who between them have played with among others, The Refused, Minor Threat, Faith, Girls Against Boys, Soulside, Messthetics, Fugazi and Bad Religion. The album was mainly recorded at Lakehouse studios in Asbury Park, New Jersey with Atom Greenspan in the producer's chair.

From the second Targets jumps out of the speakers at you this is super tight pop punk with a slight hardcore edge to mosh around the room too, as once again they have been rejected, they are feeling despondent, but they really shouldn't as this album is far too upbeat to be that down on yourself.

Expendables races along like they know just how Expendable most of us are, in the thoughts and minds of the politicians who seek to rule over us, let alone closer friends and loved ones who might ghost you over the smallest disagreement.

Delete Myself is for someone whose had enough of social media, all the other madness of modern online life, wants to get back to basics, in a two guitar bass drums band like this one, as the riff and drums build, as you figure out how to remove yourself from Tik Tok and snap chat and all that.

Go pulsates and builds into a rage of positivity as we find out what your after, hopefully you will achieve your aims.

Don't Blame Yourself is trying to get everyone to stop blaming themselves, go for a life where things get better instead of worse, as the guitars go off, the break down goes mystical psychedelic as it fades out.

Can't Take It is every bit as angry is it needs to be at all the madness surrounding them and everyone else in the 2020's. This is ready for a festival crowd to sing along to the chorus, ready for the pit to explode after the quiet middle eight in time for a nifty guitar solo.

Damage Done wants everyone to realize just how bad things have got, so they can then change them for the better, with rock hard drumming as the guitars gallop along.

Madtown is as close to a love song as they get, this gets a bit wistful in places as they give a shout out to all the young lovers.

Caught In Between they are once again the monkey in the middle trying to make sense of it all, as this builds, they hope they can figure out the correct answers to realize their dreams.

The album closes with Too Little Too Late makes sure you know it's time to wake up and fight the powers keeping you down, make sure everyone gets paid properly, has enough to eat and a place to live in, as the guitars nail it all down it's time to unite and fight the powers that be once more.
