Starvation Wages is the new solo project of Jason Dean who has gone anarcho-techno on this synth and gadget sampledelic ep for the Black bloc protest movement. Jason was originally from Seattle but is now based in Burlington Vermont. The ep was mixed and mastered by Brandon Busch.
The ep opens with Exarchia a nosebleed techno protest song, about the imposition of austerity on Greece by the IMF, how the Athenians protested that imposition, especially the riotous protests in the Exarchia district, in places this recalls Paul Hardcastle's 19, it has a similar amount of re-mix possibilities.
Anatomized is anti-war tonal synth, well-chosen vocal samples of an Allen Ginsberg quote, with a thumping dancefloor beat. Perfect for anyone who likes to mix radicalism and dancefloor action to create their own faction, while trying to stop the drumbeat to ever more disastrous wars. Making this an essential if not vital song for our desperate times.

I sit in the Surveillance capital of the world, that is regularly used to fine me, I feel a real connection to the fight against some of the worst aspects of how data is currently used, as well as the creeping suspicion it's almost impossible not to be data mined on an almost daily basis.
