Review: 'WHITE, HANNAH'
'Sweet Revolution'

-  Label: 'Last Music Company'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '9th November 2023'

Our Rating:
Hannah White is London-based singer-songwriter from Sidcup.

“I’m nothing special” she sings in Ordinary Woman and hopes against hope that this ordinariness is good enough for her man. Either this is false modesty as a seductive ploy or an open admission of low self-esteem. Either way it doesn’t strike me as particularly endearing.

There is an overall air of forlorn vulnerability to these eleven passive non-aggressive songs so the assertion that “Being a woman in a man’s world is an act of revolution” in Clementine fails to carry any sense of feisty rebelliousness.

There’s a vaguely 60s vibe to these tunes and a vaguely Americana mood but any fiery emotions burn very weakly.
