Review: 'Nrvs'

-  Label: 'Attawalpa Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '29.2.24.'

Our Rating:
I Like You is the first EP Nrvs have released since they were let out of prison, for offenses against corporate interests, This EP comes with 4 linked videos all directed by Grain Freeze, who has taken the famenonymous bands music and created a mini sci-fi mushroom drama, My review was written before I watched the films.

The only member of the band named in the press release is singer Ten Pence who may or may not be a distant relation of Mike Pence, but who holds totally opposing views to that member of the Pence family.

The ep opens with I Like You a louche bass led song of amorous intent, that has choppy guitars with Ten Pence's vocals on the brink between being sung and spoken making this sound a lot like Eight Rounds Rapid or Corporal Machine & The Bombers as they let us know they like you and want you and even bother to ask if you like them back.

Breeders slows things down to an almost Rema Rema type pace of industrial agit punk, wondering if we need anymore kids in the world, maybe we are overpopulated, so make sure to take care, as they don't want any more unwanted kids.

Scum is Ten Pence telling us all about himself, why you should avoid him and his ilk, This is just as cheeky as Eight Round Rapids with a less basic Shadracks style backing, as they celebrate the fact they are Scum and you can come and get some.

The Sane opens by telling us I took her on a date it weren't that great, before the slow, low-fi beatbox indie explains what happened on the rest of the date, was it satisfactory or just another swipe to the right.
