Review: 'Satellite Inn'
'Satellite Inn'

-  Label: 'Tara Tapes Productions'
-  Genre: 'Alt/Country' -  Release Date: '28.6.24.'

Our Rating:
Thanks to the Pandemic 1990's Italian Alternative country rockers Satellite Inn have reformed, as once more Stiv Cantarelli, Fabrizio Gramellini and Antonio Perugini are holed up in the hills of Romagna ready to man the Alt Country barricades releasing the band's first new music since 2006.

The album opens with Bury the Ashes a pitch-dark, husky indie blues for the guilty and tarnished.

Two Old Brothers are holding on tight for the country blues rock revival to really hit home once more, needing that connection rather than some awful altercation in a bar, while the guitars soar and brim with meaning.

Carry On, Benjamin isn't a long-lost film soundtrack, but a Dylanesque folk ballad of the need for survival in the midst of a storm of bad news.

Wayfaring Angel is as dark dank distressed and pained as a slow country blues rock song can get. All of there dreams are broken and they have nowhere to go to bring back the better times.

Sam takes us on another journey into the dark world where nothing changes anything, but times slow desiccation.

The Dead Believers has more of heartlands feel that recalls why they were replacements for Whiskeytown on moodfood records back in the day, more of a driving beat to this dark tale of how we are all guilty of something as we search for resurrection.

Happy To Survive wonders what happens when, the piano gets going will it stop. Even if the cd cover has the running order a bit different this is the order it plays in.

Going To Wilmington sounds like an upbeat happy road trip, so jump on that bus with them and get high.

The album closes with One Last Look And I'm Gone that's depressed sad rueful and blue, all they want to do is go home. Let them walk through those fields one last time and they'll get well out of your hair once more.
