Review: 'BROWN, MARK'
'Happy Hour'

-  Label: 'Self Released'
-  Genre: 'Alt/Country' -  Release Date: '5th July 2024'

Our Rating:
Mark Brown has never been the same since he heard his first Johnny Cash record when aged just 6.

The appeal of country music has been an irresistible scratch ever since.

He records under his own name or as the frontman of the band Uncle Buckle.

The third album from the Ulster County, New York singer-songwriter comprises 14 original Americana tunes that seem autobiographical without being confessional.

The semi-serious vignettes from his life come with an appropriately earthy drawl and are efficiently played but are too conventional to make any lasting impression.
