Linda Moylan is an East London based singer songwriter who was born in Waterford, Ireland.
The title of her third album comes from the song Hide Me London, an up-tempo tune which suggests a love-hate relationship with the capital: ”I’ve crossed all your bridges and I’ve become the fool, And I’m a long way from home.
Moylan co-produced the album with Mark Estall & Ian Montague.
Five of the eleven songs were co-written by Montague and there’s one cover: Eric Bogle’s deeply moving anti-war song The Green Fields Of France, also known as ‘Willie McBride’ and ‘No Man’s Land’. It’s always great to hear this magnificent song although Moylan’s version cannot come close to the definitive rendition by June Tabor.

Her own songs mainly tap into the loneliness of the immigrant experience, with bitter-sweet character studies being her speciality. Sensitive acoustic arrangements bring out the heartfelt quality of the material.
There’s an honesty and authenticity to this record which deserves to reach more listeners.
