Jesse Terry's seventh solo album is billed as the first album to capture his rock & roll side. I must say it still sounds more like contemporary folk to my ears.
The eleven tunes are more electric than eclectic with a foregrounding of reflective lyrics, gentle melodies and warm vibes.
The arrangements are conventional with an emphasis on sweet harmonies and easy listening. It is no surprise to learn than Terry once spent time as a staff writer on Music Row in Nashville,
The healing tones of Someone In Repair provide a good example of the album’s overall mood. Family, fatherhood and coping with mental health issues are recurring themes.

"I don’t enjoy writing songs that wallow in the past" Terry maintains although this claim is contradicted by the admission that the songs Poison Arrow, Gunpowder Days and Waiting Out The Hurricane all take inspiration from childhood memories and traumas.
These songs contribute to an album which is gentle on the ear but is unlikely to quicken the pulse.
