Review: 'HIDING PLACE'
'Cruel Kindness'

-  Label: 'RCA'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'November 1 2004'

Our Rating:
With a reverential 12-string and ebow version of Blue Oyster Cult’s "Don’t Fear The Reaper" in support, Hiding Place stay well within the heavy metal rule book with two versions of "Cruel Kindness". Someone somewhere said "post-Soundgarden". They could equally have said "post-Zeppelin". Four lads from Glasgow play fresh clean riffs and scream full-throated and convincing. They have been opening for Rasmus this month, and this single comes close to upstaging that exuberant adolescent mould. James Bowld of Pitchshifter recently joined on drums. Party on, dudes.
