- Label: 'North & Left Records'
- Genre: 'Rock'

Our Rating:
This album is built around the song So Long, Carry On which began to take shape out of some idle strumming by co-founder Adam Monda while the band were on tour. The recorded version features Zan Fiskum on vocals and these partially soften the macho brashness of the band.
Massy Ferguson's seventh release in almost two decades was recorded near the band's hometown of Seattle and produced by Damien Jurado.
Frontman, Ethan Anderson speaks of exploring new possibilities and experimenting with a fresh sonic palette: "We're expanding to other rooms, and we're using different sounds. Maybe this is a fork in the road, where we start to go in a new direction." At the same time they still wanted to make an album that showcased their strength as a live band.
Watching the video to the single When You’re Not Around, change and innovation are not words that come to mind. This is the same swaggering heartland rock with just a dash of C & W attitude.
Maybe after almost 20 years on the road they are mellowing a little but the pitch which promises ”amplified twang and raw, guitar-driven bang” has not fundamentally shifted, it’s just been tweaked a little.
