Our Rating:
Black Swan is Koln Based post Punk darkwave goths Pink Turns Blue's thirteenth album since forming in 1985. The bands current line-up is Mic Jogwer, Paul Richter and Luca Sammuri the album was recorded in Chlorin at White House Studios.

The album opens with Follow Me back to the glory days of the 80's, when goth pop was all the rage and songs like this could have been a big hit, this is catchy and reflective, they ask you to Follow Me into the gloom once more.

The latest single Can't Do Without You is a plea for more understanding, being able to see both sides of an argument and being less judgemental over slow pulsing dark hued guitars.

Earlier single Dancing With Ghosts is a seemingly classic sounding goth song, for the twisted things we do, to those we allegedly love most, how we end up Dancing With Ghosts from our pasts. Do you really want them to leave you alone now, or will you get sucked into one more whirl around that dancefloor with them, the guitars make it easy to sublimate your desires and never move on, no matter how much you want too.

Fighting For The Right Side is very much an anthem for 2025, they are fighting for tolerance and acceptance and trying to do the right thing, to make the world a better more loving, peaceful place where we all get along and have a decent home and enough to eat.

Why Can't We Just Move On is one of those statements that is easier to say than put into action, if it's about transgressions in love or work or politics, just moving on is far harder than it seems to be, sorry always seems to be the hardest word of all to say. How ever clear the guitar tones and slow bassline, maybe they can never paper over those cracks.

Black Swan (But There is More To Life) is slow reflections on the terrible event that you feel should have been prevented, sadness comes through that insistent repeating piano motif, drums and guitars firing off looking at the pity in the eyes of the spectators. Despair is everywhere these days.

Like We All Do in the middle of the night he's having paranoid visions of the end of the world, in 2025 that doesn't seem that rare, he's up for the fight for the right to party and have a good time in a sane peaceful world. Come and join Pink Turns Blue in making the world a happier place.

Friday Night Out with this lot has to involve dancing all night at an old school alternative club, hoping to get closer to that mirage across the dancefloor, having permission to explore further, find out what the boundaries are for the love you desire, lightbulb changing may be involved, if you won't go to the play room with them.

Please Don't Ask Me Why he wanted to do what he wanted to do with you, but he did, slow pulsed bass connecting the trust you need for the things you do for love in the wicked world, just don't ask him why he has the fetishes he has, don't even ask what they are if you aren't willing to indulge him. Is there nothing he won't try.

I Can Read Your Name In The Stars Mic's had a vision you are the one for him, if you prefer he'll do your numerology chart or read your tarot, he has all the old systems down, this is how to weave a spell over you and make sure you name really is in the stars slowly written within this meandering dark tune.

The album closes with Stay For The Night a tune for date night, one that's gone awry, can you get your feelings across and convince them to stay all night with you, rather than storming off. This is the aftermath of a messy fight and your acts of contrition, over the slow Psychedelic Furs style post punk, that provides a steady anchor in the maelstrom of your decaying love.
