Never Had A Heart is the latest single from Dotsun Moon's forthcoming third album Tiger due out at the end of June. This time around Dotsun Moon is the solo work of Richard Flierl with the single being engineered and mixed by Doug White at Watchman studios in Lockport NY.
The ep opens with Never Had A Heart that could be about an ex or about someone else entirely, this has a late 90's indie rock feel, Dotsun tells us all the ways you've displayed your lack of heart, the vocals weave above and below the central tune, signalling the rollercoaster of emotions they are going through.
Bring Love has a widescreen feel to all the ways in which he wants you to Bring Love rather than hate to him, well to everyone around you, now more than ever advice to bring love seems pertinent, something we should all be shouting and singing about. It may feel down beat in places, but really we should all just sway along together to the music, wrapping us in a warm cocoon.
Give Up The Tears go on stop your sobbing, be enveloped in the mesh of guitars, and the sexy bassline signalling it's time for the love to wipe the tears away.
Army Of Me is a statement of intent for a solo artist like this, it feels rather reflective and laid back, craving some isolation along with a delicate piano line helping him to stare into heaven once more.
