Po$t American is the second album by Native American band Dead Pioneers who are right to be angry as all hell, at the way they have been treated by the white people who have invaded and taken their lands, all the slaughter along the way, that has led those White People to the current precipice of hatred and despair. Dead Pioneers are led by Gregg Deal along with Shane Zweygardt, Abe Brennan, Lee Tesch and Josh Rivera, the band co-produced the album with Chris Beeble at the Blasting Room.
The album opens with A.I.M. that has the native cry and drum beat of the American Indian Movement that leads into Po$t American a raging guitar and sparse drum beat, for this rap about how genocide is central to the American myth and country, coming from the native peoples whose land was stolen and whose ancestors were slaughtered has honed their anger, at all the death and destruction they see.
My Spirit Animal Ate Your Spirit Animal is owning the hatred they get from white folks, who are dumb enough to claim to be real Americans, the bile for those demons who stole everything the elders had, whatever you do don't try to steal the real culture they come from.
Pit Song is a minute long treatise for the war that never ends, on indigenous culture, this is the hardest of hardcore blasts, can you feel the pain of the survivors of genocide.
The Caucasity is a brilliant set piece of anger and despair at being a guest speaker, explaining the situation of the dispossessed peoples, he is interrupted by some super dumb white teenager, who thinks they shouldn't be angry, they should just work to make everyone happy. Without ever looking at what the white man has created in the USA, all the homeless, drugs and despair, The Caucasity of all this is not the Native Americans, but those devils the invading white men.
Mythical Cowboys takes aim at the old Cowboy movies and the tropes that the Indians were the bad men, not the marauding white invaders, they particularly don't like John Wayne and all he stood for, which judging by the movie he made in London he was never interested in accuracy of any kind, they hate his lies and how they indoctrinated generations of American kids. Kevin Costner is also speared for his despicable myth making.
Dead Pioneers is in celebration of anyone who killed the invading so called Pioneers, they can't shed tears for the over entitled idiocy of claiming the lands they rampaged through as their own.
White Whine is a poem set to experimental music, explaining why all the racism they have faced has always come from the whites, all the pointless stupid rules set to keep them in desperate poverty, if you can't understand the anger they feel, you are obviously a racist and part of the problem.
Juicy Fruit (Ode To Chief Bromden) has a rumbling bassline as we find out why Chief Bromden is a hero to them, who got played and why. In this tribute to the incredible character in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, it makes me want to see the film again.

The album closes with Untitled Spoken Word No 2 that discusses the evil that white men do, why would you try to touch his braids, or give out his Indian name, from the very people that stole there lands and criminalized the sacred ceremonies, understandably they pour ordure on the idiocy of how the Pioneers still seem to want to keep them down, so it's hard to disagree when they say the only good pioneer is a Dead Pioneer, the relevancy of this argument if you take a step back and look around the world is even scarier.
