Finally, nearly 23 years after Detroit underground Garage punk outsiders Bogue recorded the bands only album, with the Legendary Jim Diamond in the producer's seat at Ghetto Recorders How Do You Talk To Me is finally coming out on Chaputa records. Sadly only Mike Walker is still alive after Dan Maister committed Suicide and Matt Blake died of a heart attack.
The album opens with the title track How Do You Feel About Talking To Me that has a cool garage rock beat with wild wild vocals from Dan Maister, he cops lines from Iggy Pop while sounding more like a low rent Rolling Stones cover band.
Butternut Part 2 is like The Seeds whipping up a storm, ready to turn that Butternut into something spectacular, they are in awe of the things you do, they will do anything to keep you.
Jig slows things down for a real slow Jig with the one they want, while sounding like Dinosaur Jnr at that bands messiest, through the disarray this has bags of charm.
Baby, Hold On oh yeah he'll tell you just how much you need to Hold On, whatever you do give in, everything will stutter along just fine.
Congolene is some sort of Detroit style equivalent of doing a gangster lean, that musically re-works the hand jive, adding more intensity, especially how they scream about hair slides.
You Got To Change That (You Really Really Do) is loose and louche pleading for a change of direction to improve your life. This should be played to anyone who still thinks politicians do good.
Nobody's Fault But Mine they are taking responsibility for the mess they are in, they admit those accusations of sounding like the John Spencer Blues Explosion might be justified, you'll just have to deal with it.
Ladyfriend is slow pleading for you to give in and be his Ladyfriend, he begs and pleads like he will be your own garage rock Otis Redding, you can picture the sweat running down his cheeks as he gets totally impassioned at the thought of you.
Succubus is what they think you are, you really need to treat them better than you do, central primal riff and distorted overloaded amps, make it plain how much they have had enough of you.
Insult To The Heart has all the pain and sorrow of the cheated and put upon cuckhold, set against some great delta blues slide guitar and basic yet cataclysmic drumming.
Wrack & Ruin is where their lives are headed if you don’t make nice with them, guitars explode, they scream into the void and everything falls apart, you are the destroyer they are trying to keep in check.
Unscroll The Hurt should be sung by a street preachin' sweat drenched blues howler, who wants to find a way to deal with all the hurt and pain you’ve caused them in this testimonial.
Sticky is how things are, at least unlike Pete Perrett they haven't Woke Up Sticky, this is a fully lucid Sticky situation, that they needed to get slaughtered with there favourite dogs to get through.
This rampage of an album closes with I'll Regret This, well they would regret this album not coming out sooner, this has a desert blues feel to the slow ruminations, while they contemplate if they should get out of the Cass Corridor and venture into another part of Detroit or not on this instrumental outro.
