Ever wondered what sun-dappled folk-rock sounds like? Me, neither.
Still, it happens to be the stock in trade of Canada’s Tracy McNeil and Australia’s Dan Parsons, a duo who, musically speaking,resolutely keep on the sunny side of the street.
In keeping with the mood, this album was recorded over seven summer days at Ultimate Hair Farm studio in Glendale California emerging (we are told) “ like a hazy mirage rising from a cosmic, suburban dream.” It was produced by Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Dan Horne.
Warm acoustic melodies and smooth harmonies are the order of the day. The metaphoric positivity of light is a recurring motif as evidenced by track titles: Moonlight Silver Highway, Leave A Light On and Lighter Shade Of Blue.
