This debut album of ten experimental jazz compositions by UK pianist Johnny Richards was conceived and created during lockdown.
Necessity being the mother of invention , he exchanged music files with US drummer Dave King to get the project fully realized.
The percussive pulse enables this to be more than just a Cagean exercise in style.
The rhythms created by blending prepared piano with counterpoint give the pieces a sprightly quality.
Ambience with a kick.
