Review: 'Sunshine Blind'
'Unreleased Volume 1'

-  Label: 'Bandcamp/Deezer/I-tunes'
-  Genre: 'Industrial' -  Release Date: '21.7.25.'

Our Rating:
Unreleased Vol 1 is the first "new" music from American goths Sunshine Blind in over 20 years. These tunes were taken from Dats uncovered while the band were rehearsing for comeback shows in 2024 and while starting to write new material. Sunshine Blind are/were Caroline Blind and CWHK on these recordings, live they are joined by William Faith and Geoff Bruce.

The a-side of the single is Tomorrow that sounds like a demo for a song in the vein of a slow Bauhaus goth epic, but with Caroline signing about flowers and having one last chance to throw it all away, it builds with a cool dark detached edge, they never faced your anger and despair, but need to face it, if they ever wish to see tomorrow, getting ever more grandiose while the song continues to build.

Hanging Lake demo has a great swaggering bassline, to get everyone dancing, too this dark twisted gothic tale, although I'm not familiar with the finished version of this song, this demo clearly sounds like a great classic goth floor filler, dark swirly guitars and intriguing vocals to twist and emote along too.
