'Orangutang'

-  Label: 'Last Night From Glasgow/Creeping Bent Organisation'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '19.9.25.'-  Catalogue No: 'BENT093'

Our Rating:
Orangutang is one of the final albums being released by the legendary Creeping Bent Organisation and is the first readily available album by The Sexual Objects, who have been one of Davey Henderson's many bands, formed in the ashes of the brilliant Nectarine No 9, The bands previous album Marshmallow was released in a limited edition of one that sold for £4213. The Sexual Objects are Davey Henderson, Simon Smeeton, Ian Holford, Douglas MacIntyre and Graham Wann.

The album opens with Here Come The Rubber Cops a song whose meaning will change dependant on where you live, if your currently cowering from ice this might strike fear into you, in others it will be about the dungeon monitor in their favourite clubs, either way this is woozy spaced out indie wonder for the start of British summer time.

Queen City Of The Fourth Dimension has a hazy updating of the Mungo Jerry sound, turning it into something more modern, with laid back sketched out vocals taking us on a wondrous trip. Merrie England is looked at through a foggy notion of velveteen guitars and fug like inferences, making me want to hear it over and over to get the influences correct.

Full Penetration is something they want, this chugs and goes in some dark directions while they dream of getting a taste of you. Ron Asheton is a guitar mangling tribute to the darkest Stooge of all, the guitars really go off in ways Ron would have approved of.

Feels With Me is what they want you to do, this is a cool laid back indie pop love song. Cincinnati Blooms are hopes for love and lust while over the pond, this has a slacker indie Archers Of Loaf vibe, hoping you can improvise and get things right.

Kevin Ayers is a nice tribute to the louche languid acid king, in all his mysterious wonky glory, this shoots for the moon, while forever in love with Bananas and the need to sing along with whatever Kevin would bring to the table.

Marsh Mallow has them hoping the pseudo ephedrine will kick in and they might feel like they are floating on a Marsh Mallow cloud once more. The album closes with The Protection of Happiness Generator a slow hazy almost kraut rock flight of slow building Spiritualized style space rock.
