Punchdrunk Saints are the latest hard rock band formed by Mick Geggus from The Crunch and Cockney Rejects et al, this time he is joined by Marc Salmon, Vinny Riordan (From Cockney Rejects) and Reg Downer, who have already been superseded by Tim Atkinson and Chris Nedzynski with special guests Dennis Stratton and Joe Perry Sansome. The album was recorded by Kevin Poree in Canterbury, who mixed it alongside Stacey Dunn with Tim Turan mixing it.
The album opens as it means to go on with Holy Mother a huge riffing monster of an old school heavy rock anthem, that has them begging for a reason to stay rather than walking out that door once more, perhaps a Thin Lizzy style guitar solo will keep you together, or will it be going the full Whitesnake.
Wanna Know What Its Like well it rocks like a bastard, has a great riff and gang style backing vocals for everyone to chant along with while punching the air, this is a heavy glam stomper.
Days Of Our Lives opens like it wants to be Demolition 23, before it becomes a little be softer, while they reminisce about the great times you spent together, having the Days Of Our Lives finally escaping from Canning Town, it's far too posh these days.
A Prayer For Tomorrow when we will once more be rocking, like hell is gonna freeze over if we don't crush everyone with our monumental riffs, they are riffing for revolution and a better future than what's currently on offer, this will be achieved one mind melting guitar solo at a time.
I Know Where To Find You is the lighters in the air anthem for the love you crave, with the woman that you'll follow to the ends of the earth, if she'll just return your love to you.
Your Time Is Done is super heavy doom rock, that makes clear just how much has happened and how much they need to be rid of you, so go away now! Don't come back unless you are ready to hear the truth that pours out of the super tight guitar solo.
Dirty Dreams are what they live for, they still wake up drooling about you, they plead that it will be satisfaction guaranteed, if you let them have their evil way with you, go on let the riffs into your heart and make them happy, don't turn their Dirty Dreams into bloody nightmares.
They cover John Fogerty's immortal Fortunate Son with help from Dennis Stratton while sounding like they are on Tommy Vance's Friday Night rock show, this is a heavy as hell version with wailed vocals and screaming guitars.
Over You they really are finally done and dusted with you, they are back having fun with the boys, riffing and rocking and just having a blast, the heartbreak is hard to deal with, but well you can't stop them going out on tour anymore, let that solo rip once more.
The album closes with Come Home that has an acoustic guitar intro for this bruised song of regret for the parting of the ways, so they tie on a bandanna or three and beg and plead for you to Come Home again, this needs a full on monumental 80's style video to outdo Motley Crue's Home Sweet Home, thankfully this is far less mawkish than that song.
