This self-titled EP from Meadow Gallery is a prefect slice of hazy Autumnal psychedelic chamber pop from Miranda Thompson and Derek See with a guest appearance from Matt Devine. Derek has played in among other bands Careless Hearts, Rain Parade and The Gentle Cycle while Miranda is a screenwriter for the Simpsons etc.
The EP opens with Wade Into The Night that has a very late-night red wine and candles feel to the laid-back melodies and slow precise drums, when Miranda's vocals come to the fore they are beguiling in an Opal style vein.
I Hear Fall a very hazy autumnal gentle Psychedelic song finding better ways to say goodnight, like the slower side of Viva Saturn this is mellow and supple.
Veins In Every Leaf is reflective for the bucolic days spent gazing at the Veins In Every Leaf as if you are fixated on them while tripping on mushrooms, mapping out complicated structures while the music is imbued with subtle elegance with laid back grace.
Wild Beauty Of Our Days sounds like they are coming down from a hell of a wild time, they just need the gentlest of calming psychedelia to help them back to reality with all the wonderful memories of those wild days intact, no one had weaponized anyone's souls yet. So let them take you on a stroll through those sun dappled trees once more.
The ep closes with the hushed beauty of Louise who they love dearly, but she seems to not want to return that love on this gorgeous cover of the Acetone's song, regrets shine through every carefully picked guitar note and the gentle organ fills, along with the sweetly intertwined harmonies.
