The album opens with Yes It's Me a hopeful country blues making the case that if your down get in touch with Phil, he'll make sure you see the light and feel a whole lot better, set against Bluegrass mandolins and soft shuffling percussion.
Motel Called Loneliness is where Phil is headed once more, what can you do but drown your sorrows, dust yourself down and get on with finding the next cure for loneliness, Phil is searching for that connection one laid back guitar part at a time.
Heartache By Delivery it's been served up by some sketchy guy on a falling apart bike, will you take the hint that its over, well musically this is spry with a gospel blues edge for Phil to let all his problems go too.
See How We Roll very slowly indeed if you're rolling along at the same pace the song does, looking for a way to see through to better times, when your heart will be repaired and you'll be ready to roll once more.
Buy Me A Drink go on get me a stiff one, you know you want too, Phil tells us he'll be your friend if you just buy him a tall one, or even a short one, he don't mind, this has a walking country blues backing for this evocation of the lush life.
Pick Me Up On Your Way Down is a louche cover of the Charlie Walker standard (Written by Ray Price and Webb Pierce) covered by among others Martina McBride, Phil gives it a countrypolitan twist to this tale of falling far off the wagon and trying to survive life's rollercoaster.
Speak Easy Blues has some cool blues piano and harmonica flourishes, even if a Speak Easy in the 2020's would be a place where you can tell the truth rather than an illegal shabeen, Phil's a wandering man and wants to find somewhere he can mellow out and tinkle away at that piano and have a drink in this seemingly dry town.
The album closes with a version of Ain't Nothing To Me the Johnny Winter classic, that in recent times Billy Strings has made his own, Phil adds his own sophistication to this song of heartbreak and the fight that's about to break out over that lady they both think is theirs, one day they will realize she's her own person and not their property.
