Review: 'Licorice Chamber'
'Remnants'

-  Label: 'Bandcamp/Deezer/I-tunes'
-  Genre: 'Industrial' -  Release Date: '26.2.26.'

Our Rating:
Remnants is the third EP by Tacoma Washington goth off shoot of Strap On Halo, the dark and mysterious Licorice Chamber, who are fronted by Layla Reyna alongside Marc Jones, Cory Sorrentino and Joe Fox. The EP was mixed and mastered by Don Farwell at Earwig Studios in Tacoma.

The single opens with Feign a classic slow moody goth song in a Siouxie meets Play Dead style, for all the pain and distress you feel, atmospheric guitars help create dark feelings being explored in Layla's vocals.

Heavy has crunchier guitars over the slow beats for carrying the weight of the world around on your shoulders, an unimaginable burden in current times, slowly reflecting on how bad things have become. The reverb laden guitars slowly playing a portentous guitar figure.

Never Be The Same Again is a common refrain these days, while we all hope we could go back to the glorious goth 80's once more, to a life before mobile phones and drones, where you might worry about how many Goth girls will have rats on their shoulders this weekend, but really they just want to go back to dancing and enjoying yourself in the gloom rather than living through doomed times.
