Review: 'BHAJAN BHOY'
'Meditations'

-  Label: 'Cardinal Fuzz'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Release Date: '17th April 2026'

Our Rating:
Ambient music tailored for meditation and/or relaxation is a genre at risk of being dominated by AI generated content. Nowadays, unobtrusive musak or new age atmospherics are relatively easy to programme to provide a soundtrack to consumerism or contemplation.

One way to counter this machine-made trend is provided by Ajay Saggar aka Bhajan Bhoy from the Netherlands. His long form Kosmiche compositions are constructed using real instruments which include guitar, accordion, piano and yangqin ( a Chinese hammered dulcimer).

Saggar says “These tracks served as a series of spiritual prayers when I recorded them” and speaks of their healing qualities for body and mind.

The four tracks all run over ten minutes and give the impression that the playing time could have been far longer. The blurb to the album states: These pieces move with patience and grace, drawing the listener into a blessed, inward journey.

Above all, one can feel that these are constructed by a human being with the aim of making a connection with the listener rather than applying some cold, abstract techniques.
