Our Rating:
Ah THE DONNAS: the female Jet. My first reaction upon receiving this CD was ‘so they’re still going then.’ And my second after hearing the CD was ‘why are they still bothering?’

Sub AC / DC riff, check. Lyrics about boys, check. Reviewer mentally switched off, check. I Don’t Want to Know (If You Don’t Want Me) (and I’m sure the sharper amongst you have worked this out from the title) is about some nasty boy not wanting to go out with the Donnas any more (the fool). It sounds like Avril Lavigne has graduated to smoking Marlboro Lights in a really rebellious way. It seems the Donnas have seen the object of their affection with another girl in the candle light. And apparently they hope it’s his sister they saw as if the pain of rejection will be lightened by such an incestuous relationship.

Quite frankly what it lacks is balls (sorry). The Donnas must be well into their twenties now and seem to be a sassy lot and therefore this should be called ‘If You Don’t Want Me That’s Your Loss You Sad Streak of Piss (and Your Shit in Bed and Your Sisters Welcome to You)’. And the riffs should be huge and they should grunge up the vocals some as at the moment it all sounds too clean, too nice and too weak.

Second track ‘Done With You’ is about (wait for it) The Donnas getting rid of some useless bloke. All of the above applies again but more so. Rubbish in a word.
