Review: 'WOGGLES, THE'
'Stop and take a minute'

-  Label: 'Wicked Cool Records'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '8th May 2026'

Our Rating:
The Woggles from Atlanta, Georgia are described as Garage rock stalwarts and this album is a handpicked collection of B-sides and rarities spanning the band’s career of more than three decades (they formed in 1987).

There’s nothing here that that you haven’t heard many times before and that’s really the point, The songs immediately call to mind rock classics like ‘Wild Thing’ and ‘Shaking All Over’ or even some Meat Loaf for good measure.

The album opens with the title track which was written by Flesh Hammer (a.k.a. Jeff Walls), the band’s guitarist who passed away in 2019. This was the final piece the band completed together with Walls, who served as lead guitarist from 2003–2019. and had previously been The Woggles’ primary producer dating back to 1990.

In the current incarnation, frontman “The Professor” Mighty Manfred is backed by the twin-guitars of Graham Day and Shane Pringle. The latter also contributes saxophone and us anchored by the rhythm section of Buzz Hagstrom (bass) and Dan Elektro (drums).

Very predictable but great party music with a heavily nostalgic edge
